Updating the Section 508 Web Accessibility Tutorial (Posted August 31, 2007)

This Section 508 Web Accessibility Tutorial was originally written in 2000 for the Information Technology Technical Assistance and Training Center, funded in support of Section 508 by NIDRR and GSA at Georgia Institute of Technology, Center for Rehabilitation Technology. After I wrote that course, I expanded on much of that material for my five chapters in "Constructing Accessible Web Sites" published by Glasshaus in 2001, later by Apress. Then that book has been rewritten with tons of new content and a new title, "Web Accessibility: Web Standards and Regulatory Compliance," published by FriendsOfEd, an Apress company. I rewrote my 5 chapters, amazed at how much had changed. Sick of writing I put off getting back to the Section 508 Web Accessibility Tutorial which was really is the source of the idea for a book in the first place.

Now I have begun to seriously and totally rewrite the Section 508 Web Accessibility Tutorial, all of it. I will have all sections completed by October 19, 2007. The reason I am so firm on that date is that I have an agreement with Webucator, a technical training company. They will offer a Web Accessibility Course based on the Section 508 Web Accessibility Tutorial.
